Stephan Leithner named new co-CEO of Deutsche Börse
Former investment banker, Stephan Leithner, will become the new co-CEO of Deutsche Börse, alongside Theodor Weimer, three months before taking up the position at the end of the year. Leithner, who joined in 2018 from EQT, will sign a five-year contract.
Weimer’s Retirement
Weimer, who announced his retirement at the age of 65, has led the company towards market independence and focused on services for investors.
Leithner’s Expertise
Leithner, praised for his expertise in capital markets, has helped shape the strategy and is considered the true successor by chairman Martin Jetter.
