Neil Young’s Return to Spotify
After Two-Year Boycott
Neil Young ended his two-year boycott of Spotify due to Joe Rogan’s podcast, citing the host’s misinformation. Rogan signed a $250 million deal to make his podcast available on other platforms, prompting Young to return to Spotify, where 60% of his streaming revenue comes from. Other artists have supported Young in solidarity.
Rogan’s podcast is controversial, with past racist language and accusations of spreading misinformation about vaccines. Young also criticized Spotify for its lack of high-quality audio content, hoping for improvements.
Rogan’s podcast will now be available on multiple platforms, not just Spotify.
