Huti militia attacks cargo ship off the coast of Yemen
At least two fatalities have been confirmed after the cargo ship “True Confidence” was hit by a rocket and caught fire.
Huti militia claims responsibility
The Huti militia has claimed responsibility for the attack, demanding an end to the Israeli blockade of Gaza. They have stated that attacks on merchant ships will increase in solidarity with Hamas.
International response
The United States, United Kingdom, and European Union have carried out military strikes and implemented protective measures for merchant shipping in the Red Sea.
